Chinese New Year Festivities
The students enjoyed the spectacular traditional Chinese New Year Lion Dance, and were delighted by the wonderful dance and song performance of the K1, K2 and G1 Mandarin students.
We were delighted to host the children’s writer, Abie Longstaff, for a day of inspirational creative writing workshops. Every student, from nursery to G8, took part in a writing workshop tailored to age group and interests. Students were enthralled to learn about Abie’s own, magical, creative writing space and even had the opportunity to explore some of the amazing props and objects that she uses to stir her imagination.
The SMMIS swim squad participated in the highly-spirited swimming competition against OFS. The noticeable improvement in both stroke technique and speed was testament to their commitment to the after-school training programme.
Charity Challah Bake
The first SMMIS/PTA challah bake for charity took place, with a number of enthusiastic students, parents and teachers rolling up their sleeves to plait and bake the SMMIS secret challah recipe.
Zoo Field Trip
Grade 2 and 3 went on an overnight camping trip to the Singapore Zoo. They had a wonderful time learning about the animal hospital, they enjoyed watching interactive animal shows and visiting the Night Safari.
